Wouldn’t it be wonderful if you could peek inside the minds of your followers to find out what kind of tweets they’d like to see from you?

 

Well, you kinda can.

The answer has been right in front of you for a long time. Start by logging in to your Twitter page. Click on your profile picture in the upper right-hand side of the screen.

From the drop-down menu that appears, choose Analytics. You should come to a screen that has a ton of very useful information.

At a glance, you can see which tweets had the most activity, see your top follower, how many people linked back to you, and more.

Take a look at the photo below – that’s a screenshot of the Home page as the red arrow indicates. Click on Audience where the green arrow is pointing and let’s get to know what our followers.

Don’t think of this so much as analyzing data as finding people to talk to that already like what you’ve got to say.

While you’re going through your most popular tweets and finding out what specific people have liked or retweeted your tweets, remember to keep in touch with these tweeps and repay their kindness. Make a habit of retweeting them when you see them tweet something you like, or just clicking that little heart icon.

If you’re new to Twitter and you have fewer than 200 followers,

I would say tweeting 3 or 4 times a day is plenty. At this point you’re still discovering who your followers are and if they’re even the type of followers you want.
